OctaDezx vs Freshdesk: seats and AI sessions versus one flat plan
Freshdesk is the sensible mid market help desk, priced per agent with Freddy AI sold in session blocks. Here is how that adds up, and which businesses each one actually suits.

Key takeaways
- Freshdesk lists Growth at 19 dollars per agent a month, Pro at 55 and Enterprise at 89, on annual billing.
- Freddy AI Agent includes the first 500 sessions, after which extra sessions cost 49 dollars per 100, which is roughly 0.49 dollars each.
- So a business doing 2,000 AI sessions a month pays for 1,500 chargeable sessions on top of every agent seat.
- Freshdesk is a capable, well priced classic help desk and is the stronger choice if you are building a ticket driven support function.
- OctaDezx includes AI in a flat plan and is built for answering and selling across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Shopify rather than running a ticket queue.
Freshdesk occupies a sensible middle. It gives you most of what Zendesk gives you, at a lower seat price, without the enterprise weight. For a lot of growing support teams that is exactly the right trade, and it deserves more credit than it usually gets in comparison articles written by its competitors.
The question is whether you are building a support team at all, or trying not to.
The pricing, laid out
Freshdesk charges per agent: 19 dollars a month on Growth, 55 on Pro and 89 on Enterprise, billed annually. Each plan includes the first 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions, and beyond that AI sessions are sold at 49 dollars per 100.
Work an example. Four agents on Pro is 220 dollars a month before AI. If the AI handles 2,000 sessions, 1,500 of those are chargeable, which is fifteen blocks at 49 dollars, or 735 dollars. The total lands near 955 dollars a month, and the AI portion is the larger part.
OctaDezx charges 9 dollars a month for up to 300 unique customers a day, 29 for 1,000, 99 for 5,000 and 199 for 20,000, with two months free annually. Seats are not metered and AI usage is not charged separately.
| OctaDezx | Freshdesk | |
|---|---|---|

| Entry price | 9 dollars a month | 19 dollars per agent a month |
| AI included | Yes, no separate meter | First 500 sessions, then 49 dollars per 100 |
| Cost of adding a colleague | Nothing | Another full seat |
| Built for | Selling and support across channels | Running a ticket driven support function |
What Freshdesk is genuinely better at
- Classic ticketing. Queues, assignment, statuses, SLA policies and escalation are mature and well built.
- Value for a growing support team. Per agent it is meaningfully cheaper than Zendesk for a similar shape of product.
- Reporting for support managers, including agent performance and workload views.
- The wider Freshworks suite, if you also want CRM and IT service management from one vendor.
- Enterprise readiness, including the compliance and procurement side.
What OctaDezx does better
- Predictable cost. Neither headcount nor AI volume moves the invoice inside a tier.
- Order taking, with totals verified server side against your catalogue.
- WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook as first class channels, including replying to comments on posts.
- Speed to value. Import a catalogue from a URL and connect a channel, rather than configuring a service desk.
- Over fifty languages detected per customer at no extra cost.
How to choose
If your plan is to grow a support team and run it properly, with tickets, SLAs and agent performance management, Freshdesk is a good, fairly priced tool and this is not a close call.
If your plan is to avoid growing a support team, because most of your volume is the same twenty pre sale questions arriving on social channels at all hours, then a per agent tool plus a per session AI meter is the wrong shape and OctaDezx is the better fit.
The tell is what your queue is made of. Ticket driven work with cases that stay open for days suits a help desk. Fast pre sale conversations that end in a purchase suit an AI agent.
Prices here were checked in July 2026 from each vendor's own public pricing page. Every vendor in this comparison changes pricing regularly, so treat these as a starting point and confirm the current numbers before you commit to anything.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does Freshdesk cost with AI?
- Freshdesk lists Growth at 19 dollars per agent a month, Pro at 55 and Enterprise at 89 on annual billing, each including the first 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions. Additional AI sessions are sold at 49 dollars per 100. Your total is therefore seats multiplied by agents plus AI session blocks.
- Is OctaDezx a good Freshdesk alternative?
- It depends what you need. If you want an AI agent answering customers and taking orders across social and commerce channels for a predictable flat price, yes. If you need classic ticketing with SLA management, agent workflows and the reporting a support manager relies on, Freshdesk is built for that and OctaDezx is not.
- What happens when you run out of Freddy AI sessions?
- You buy more, at 49 dollars per 100 sessions. It is worth estimating your monthly session count before choosing a plan, because the 500 included sessions go quickly on a busy store and the incremental cost is the part that surprises people.
