OctaDezx vs Gorgias: two very different bets on ecommerce support
Gorgias is the deepest Shopify native help desk and it does not charge per agent, which is a real advantage. It does charge per ticket. Here is where that lands well and where it does not.

Key takeaways
- Gorgias is priced on ticket volume rather than agents, and states plainly that it is never priced per agent, so unlimited staff can have access.
- Its help desk scales from 50 to 5,000 tickets a month, with the AI agent charged when it resolves a conversation and per ticket overage beyond your allowance.
- That model is excellent if you have many staff and moderate volume, and it gets expensive in the opposite case.
- Gorgias is genuinely stronger on native Shopify actions and on attributing revenue to support conversations.
- OctaDezx charges a flat plan by daily customer capacity, and focuses on the AI completing orders across WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook as well as the store.
Gorgias made a smart decision early: build specifically for ecommerce rather than for support in general. That focus shows. Refunds, order edits and cancellations happen inside the help desk instead of in a second browser tab, and it tracks the revenue that support conversations produce, which most help desks simply cannot.
OctaDezx is aimed at the same businesses from a different direction. Instead of making the queue easier to work, it tries to stop most of the queue from forming, and to close sales in the conversation itself.
How each one charges
Gorgias charges by ticket volume, and is explicit that it is never priced per agent. Its help desk scales from 50 to 5,000 tickets a month, with the AI agent available on every plan and charged when it resolves a conversation. Beyond your included allowance you pay per additional ticket, at a rate that decreases on higher tiers.
The strength of this is obvious. If you have eight people who need access, six of them occasionally, you are not paying eight seat licences. That is a real and often overlooked saving compared with Zendesk or Freshdesk.
The weakness is the mirror image. A store with two people and heavy message volume pays for volume it cannot reduce by hiring differently. And since a busy month is usually a good month commercially, the bill rises alongside your sales.
OctaDezx charges a flat plan with capacity in unique customers per day: 9 dollars for 300, 29 for 1,000, 99 for 5,000 and 199 for 20,000, with two months free on annual billing. Staff access is not metered and AI resolutions are not charged.
| OctaDezx | Gorgias | |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | A plan, with daily customer capacity | Monthly ticket volume |
| Staff access | Not metered | Not metered, users unlimited |
| Entry price | 9 dollars a month | 10 dollars a month for 50 tickets |
| AI charges | Included in the plan | Charged when the AI agent resolves |
| Busy month effect | No change inside your tier | Higher tier or per ticket overage |
| Deepest strength | AI that answers and completes orders across channels | Native Shopify actions and revenue attribution |
What Gorgias is genuinely better at
- Shopify actions inside the conversation. Refunding, cancelling and editing orders without leaving the help desk is more developed than in most competitors.
- Revenue attribution. Connecting support conversations to the sales they produce is a real strength and hard to replicate.
- Unlimited users. Everyone from warehouse to marketing can have access without a per seat conversation.
- Help desk workflow. Views, assignment, macros and the ordinary machinery of running a queue are mature.
- The ecommerce app ecosystem, with deep integrations into the tools stores already run.
What OctaDezx does better
- Volume economics. A busy month does not change your bill inside your plan tier.
- Social selling. Instagram and Facebook comment replies and DMs are handled by the same agent that knows your catalogue.
- Order taking as a first class function, with prices and totals verified server side rather than generated by the model.
- Languages. Over fifty, detected per customer, without a separate cost.
- Managing the business from Claude through a native MCP server, which is genuinely unusual in this category.
Choose Gorgias when
- Shopify is the centre of your operation and you need order actions inside the help desk.
- You have many people who need access and moderate ticket volume.
- You want to measure the revenue your support conversations generate.
- You are running a real support queue with assignment, views and macros, and you want that machinery to be good.
Choose OctaDezx when
- Most of your questions arrive on WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook rather than email.
- Your volume is high relative to your headcount, so ticket metering works against you.
- You want conversations to end in completed orders rather than closed tickets.
- You sell in more than one language.
Prices here were checked in July 2026 from each vendor's own public pricing page. Every vendor in this comparison changes pricing regularly, so treat these as a starting point and confirm the current numbers before you commit to anything.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Gorgias worth it for a small Shopify store?
- It can be, particularly because it does not charge per agent, so a small store with several people helping out gets good value. The thing to check is your monthly ticket volume, since that is the meter. If volume is high and headcount is low, the ticket based model works against you.
- What is the main difference between Gorgias and OctaDezx?
- Gorgias is a help desk with AI added, priced by ticket volume, built tightly around Shopify actions. OctaDezx is an AI agent first, priced as a flat plan by daily customer capacity, built to answer and take orders across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Shopify. Gorgias is stronger for managing a ticket queue, OctaDezx for conversations that end in a sale.
- Does Gorgias charge for extra tickets?
- Yes. Each plan includes a monthly ticket allowance and additional tickets are charged beyond it, with the per ticket rate falling on higher tiers. Budget for the overage, not just the plan, if your volume varies month to month.
