An AI agent that knows what it knows
OctaDezx tracks what it knows, what it could not answer, what it promised and who it is talking to, and learns from corrections only after an owner approves. Practical self-awareness for customer care.
The most dangerous assistant is one that does not know where its knowledge ends. OctaDezx is built to be self-aware in a practical, operational sense: it keeps track of the questions it could not answer, the promises it made, the customer it is talking to and the moments it should hand over. It then improves from corrections and outcomes, with every change approved by a person.
The everyday problem
A typical assistant answers every question with the same confidence, forgets what it told a customer yesterday and repeats the same mistake for months. Nobody is told that it keeps failing on the same question, because a confident wrong answer looks like a success in the logs.
How OctaDezx helps
OctaDezx records its own blind spots and commitments as data you can see. Questions it hedged on become knowledge gaps, promises become tracked commitments, escalations and corrections become lessons it proposes, and nothing changes its behaviour until an owner approves it.
What the agent is aware of
- Its own knowledge gaps. When the agent cannot answer from what it was given, the question is recorded as a knowledge gap and counted, so you see exactly what your business has never written down instead of discovering it in a complaint.
- Its own promises. Every commitment it makes, such as a callback or a follow-up, is stored in its own words with a due date and marked kept, missed or cancelled.
- Who it is talking to. Before it answers, the agent is given the customer's history across channels, so a returning customer is recognised as one person with one record.
- When to stop. If it cannot help, or a customer asks for a person, it escalates with the full conversation instead of guessing.
- How conversations really went. Each conversation is analysed for what the customer wanted, what they could not get, objections, competitors mentioned and whether their mood improved.
- Self-improving, with an approval gate. From corrections, mistakes and wins the agent proposes lessons. A database rule keeps every lesson pending until an authenticated owner approves it, so a customer can never steer its behaviour.
How a blind spot becomes a better answer
Illustrative flow, not a customer transcript.
- 1. The gap. Several customers ask whether you deliver on Sundays. The agent has no saved answer, says so, and records the question as a knowledge gap.
- 2. The correction. A team member takes over one conversation and writes the right answer. That correction is captured as a labelled example.
- 3. The lesson. The agent proposes a lesson with the situation, the better response and how many real conversations support it.
- 4. The approval. The owner reviews and approves it. From then on Sunday delivery questions are answered correctly.
What self-aware does and does not mean
- Self-aware here is an operational description: the agent records its gaps, promises, context and outcomes as inspectable data. It does not mean the software is conscious.
- Learning does not retrain a model. Approved lessons and knowledge guide future answers within your business only.
- Nothing approves itself. A lesson that is never reviewed has no effect, so the quality of improvement depends on someone reviewing them.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a self-aware AI agent? In OctaDezx it means an agent that tracks the limits of its own knowledge, the promises it has made, who it is talking to and when it should hand over, and shows all of that to you as data.
- Is OctaDezx self-improving? Yes. It learns from human corrections, escalations, rephrased questions, abandoned conversations and successful outcomes, and proposes lessons that take effect only after an owner approves them.
- Can a customer change how the AI behaves? No. Proposed lessons are forced to pending by a database trigger, and only an authenticated business owner can approve one.
- Does it retrain the AI model on my data? No. It does not retrain a model. Approved lessons and your knowledge base guide answers for your business only.
- How do I see what the AI does not know? Knowledge gaps are listed in the dashboard with how often each question was asked, so you can add the missing answer once.
